Craft Hope

Craft Hope Spreading seeds of hope one stitch at a time

I love crafting, and I love supporting good causes. Well a friend of mine just posted on facebook about
Craft Hope's latest Project. Making tote bags and beanies for children battling cancer. My heart breaks to think about these little warriors and their daily struggles. With a little guy myself, I just can't even imagine how hard that must be on those families. So I am going to spend my Friday night tonight making tote bags for these little warriors.

There are a lot of great tutorials out there and tons of ideas on Pinterest. Check out what Liz has made for Project 16 here. And check out Craft Hope's Flickr site here.

If you are interested in participating, the deadline is March 12, 2012.
Hats and tote bags can be mailed to:

Baby Toy

I love to make baby gifts. So usually the night before a baby shower I am up until the wee hours of the morning making something. Tonight was no exception. I was doing some on-line browsing on Amazon today for a baby shower tomorrow and came across some of the taggie toys. My son LOVES tags, and I thought to myself, I can make that, and have all the supplies. It came together fairly quickly. I cut out two triangles from two fabrics, then appliqued/quilted some felt pieces for texture, then sewed them together with the tags sandwiched between to the two sides (right sides together), leaving a space for turning, then stuffed it and top stitched around the whole thing. Easy peasy, and I think it is quite cute and will be fun for baby. What do you think?

Modern Mini Challenge

So, I love a good challenge. Always have. And, I always dive into everything head first. Seems as though true to form, I have done that as well with resurrecting my quilting. So in addition to the I-Spy Charm swap, I have joined a few bees and the sew happy quilt along, and my boy bug quilt, and, lastly, the Modern Mini Challenge from Jennifer at Ellison Lane Quilts. I am really excited about this one as it will allow me to try some stuff out on a small scale. I have my mini all designed, and its a little ambitious, but I think I can do it. I am in love with all the rainbow quilts out there, so that is my color inspiration. Just starting out, I had to do some shopping (I love on-line shopping, and it is soooo much fun to browse and purchase fabric on-line). Here's what I purchased. How fun, I can't wait to cut into it. Stay tuned!

I think I'm good on orange and yellow, but perhaps a few more pinks and reds are needed!

Sew Happy QAL

I finally received my fabrics to start the Sew Happy Sample Quilt Along. I am so glad that I decided to do this, it is so much fun. Not sure if I am going to repeat fabric choices or not, so many cute fabrics in this color scheme.

My favorite block thus far, love those blenders.
